OPAQUE DISPLAYS
An exhibition of three new sculptural objects

www.eleetwarez.net

The work in this exhibition explores the craft, presentation, lore, and machismo of post-minimalist American art. The installation is comprised of three vitrines containing mechanical dioramas re-presenting works of art by Robert Smithson, Gordon Matta-Clark, and Chris Burden.

Matthew Hebert creates sculptural furniture objects that activate the viewer and the space around them. His interactive kinetic work questions the role of objects in our everyday life. Hebert’s award winning work has been exhibited internationally. Hebert received a BA in Architecture from UC-Berkeley and an MFA from the California College of the Arts. He lives in San Diego and is Assistant Professor of Art at San Diego State University.
